CNN mocks Nigeria over Buhari's continued absence in the country

American news network, CNN , has mocked Nigeria , asking where is President Muhammadu Buhari .
The Nigerian president has not been in the country for over two months and the news television in a query on its website on Sunday asked which “head of state from which country has not set foot in his homeland in over two months ?”
The mockery came in the latest edition of CNN ’s “The Global Public Square ( GPS)” show anchored by Fareed Zakaria . In an apparent mockery of Nigeria and her President Muhammadu Buhari , CNN , on its programme displayed at 4 : 59 pm local time on Sunday, asked,“The head of state from which country has not set foot in his homeland in over two months ?”
It went ahead to tick an option with the name Nigeria as the correct answer. The options were given as Saudi Arabia , Cuba , Nigeria and Syria. A screenshot of the mockery tweeted by Chidi Odinkalu, Former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission asked What do you say Nigerians?
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari has been in London since May 7 on a medical follow- up . Some political delegations including the Acting President , Professor Yemi Osinbajo have been visiting President Buhari in London and have told Nigerians that the president is doing just fine and will soon return to continue his presidential duties.

Paul Okoye’s Reaction To FG’s Plan To Stop Production Of Movie Videos Abroad

Arsenal Unveil New All Blue Away Kit for 2017/2018 Season

Arsenal have launched their new away kit for the 2017/2018 Premier League season.

The club made the announcement on their official website on Thursday.

The new kit which is blue and the third among which will be worn by Arsenal this season,  was modelled by Mesut Ozil, Hector Bellerin and Theo Walcott.

According to a statement made by the club, the jersey will be worn against Portuguese club Benfica at this year's Emirates Cup on Saturday.

"The new 2017/18 away kit will be worn for the first time when the first-team face Benfica in the Emirates Cup on Saturday, 29 July," a statement on the club's website reads.

"On sale now, the new away kit fuses two shades of blue together with added touches of white.


"The club first wore blue on their away kit in 1892 and since then it has featured in numerous kits throughout the club’s history.  Whilst keeping a focus on tradition, the two-tone treatment provides a modern design and style."

Islamic cleric vows to trek from Abuja to Maiduguri if Shekau is captured

A 37-year-old Islamic cleric, Ali Ahmad, has vowed to trek from Abuja to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, should the wanted Boko Haram terrorist, Abubakar Shekau is captured.
Ahmad said he would take it upon himself to trek the 844 kilometer journey to celebrate the Nigerian troops if they succeed in bringing the ‘heartless’ insurgent down.
The distance between Abuja and Maiduguri is measured 844.71 kilometers, approximately 70 miles per hour.
His promise is coming on the heels of the recent order by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai to the troops fighting Boko Haram in the Northeast to arrest Shekau within 40 days, either dead or alive.
Ahmad made this revelation while speaking during the prayer organised on Wednesday by some religious bodies to render Boko Haram spiritual base useless.
The religious bodies said they would be embarking on a 40-day prayer and fasting for God to end the reign of insurgency in Nigeria.
Speaking at the Unity Fountain on Wednesday, Ahmad, who claimed to be a native of Gudumbali village in Guzamala LGA of Borno State, said he lost one of his wives and two children to an attack carried out by the Boko Haram insurgents on a Monday Market in Maduguri in January 2015.
Ahmad said he decided to relocate from Borno after the deadly attack.
Speaking in Hausa, the emotion-laden man said he has not been able to get back on his feet since the attack, which destroyed his shop and goods worth millions of naira.
“I was doing fine with my family in Maiduguri until January 2015 when the Boko Haram members attacked the Monday Market and killed several people.
“I was in Kano that day to buy goods when I got a call from my house that my wife, Zaina and two sons have been killed by bomb blast. I lost everything I had and I had no choice than to move my remaining family to my village in Gudumbali. From there I moved to Abuja,” he said.
The father of three, who attributed the cause of his misfortunes to the activities of Shekau and his men, said he would be the joyous person if the extremist is eventually captured.
“I am ready to trek from Lagos to Maiduguri if he is arrested. I don’t mind my age and strength. Shekau is an evil man and deserves to die. He will not go unpunished,” Ahmad added.
Ahmad, while acknowledging the efforts of the military in restoring peace back to the volatile community, said the battle is now between God and evil and that’s why the prayer for the soldiers is very important.
He said, “Our military deserves all the support and encouragement from spiritual and political leadership of the country to totally wipe away their tears in the north eastern part of the country. It will be everyone’s joy to see Shekau in chains.”

A stunning blonde who stopped cutting her hair for a bet has turned into a real-life Rapunzel after growing it out for 14 years.

Russian beauty Daria Gubanova's amazing head of thick golden hair now comes down almost to her ankles.

And the 27-year-old, who lives in the city of Barnaul in south-central Russia's Altai Krai region, says she will not trim her impressive mane until it reaches her toes.

Ms Gubanova began growing her hair 14 years ago when a friend bet her that she could not grow her hair long enough to braid it.

So she stopped visiting her hairdresser and began letting her hair go free.

Now, she is hailed as a modern day Rapunzel thanks to her incredible look.

Daria, who has more than 218k followers on social media, estimated that her hair is 1.5 metres (almost six feet) long.

And she has gained herself an army of admirers who wish to follow in her footsteps.

Social media commentator '_mom_alena' said: "I admire the length of your hair. I am trying to grow mine, but at least another five years to go."

And one identified as 'lm0357' added: "Like a goddess..."

China’s latest, fastest ‘Skytrain’ starts trial operation

According to a popular Chinese news website, China’s fastest suspension railway line has been put in trial operation in Qingdao, eastern China’s Shandong Province.

Nicknamed the ‘Skytrain’, the elevated monorail is already breaking records, while still in its testing phase. Engineers say it can perform nearly three times better than regular subway trains and can ascend gradients of 100 meters over a distance of 1,000 meters, according to Chinanews.com.
Designed as a lightweight, intermediate speed, medium traffic volume, and low-cost transport system, it’s expected to have huge market potential in scenic areas, mountainous regions, and major cities.
Made by CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co. Ltd, the suspension train will be able to carry up to 510 passengers in three to five carriages, with the maximum running speed of 70 km per hour.

“This monorail train uses the latest permanent magnet motor technology, which enables it to have the advantages of larger power, smaller physical volume, lower noise, and lighter weight, thus realizing better operating efficiency,” says Liu Yuwen, technical director of the project.
Through steep and rugged mountainous regions, the sky train will still be able to provide passengers with a safe and comfortable ride, he added.
Elevated rail networks can also be cheaper to build and maintain, and can be set up quickly.

China is now the third country in the world to have developed this kind of technology, after Germany and Japan.

Nigerian Pastor Pushes His Wife Down From Upstairs

A Nigerian pastor, David Steven, from Edo state living in Netherland nearly killed his wife by pushing her down from upstairs . The wife sustained injuries and is battling for her life in hospital.

Pastor David in trying to dispute the rumour said that he did not beat his wife.
According to him , he had a misunderstanding with his wife and when she came back , he tried to say some romantic words to her before opening the door for her . Shocking to him , he saw his wife in a ' weird ' manner . It was during the process that the wife mistakenly slipped off and hit her head on the floor . He however urged wives not to lay their hands first on their husbands no matter what the situation is.

Many social media users however disputed his claims. Many of them were of the opinion that he was trying to cover up . They argued that a real man of God won ' t come online to defend himself after mercilessly beating his wife.

Nigerian army chief gives ultimatum for Shekau's capture

Nigeria's Army Chief, Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai has directed the Theatre Commander, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, to capture Abubakar Shekau dead or alive.
Buratai who stated Friday night, said the so-called and self-styled leader of Boko Haram terrorists group, Abubakar Shekau must be captured dead or alive.

The Theatre Commander has further been directed to capture Shekau within 40 days.
“He is to employ all arsenal at the disposal of the Theatre Command to smoke out Shekau wherever he is hiding in Nigeria,” a statement issued by the director of Army Public Relations, Brig Gen Sani Kukasheka Usman said.

“The general public is please requested to also assist and volunteer information that would lead to the accomplishment of this task,” the statement added.
